Yes, an argument can be made that Dirk is also very worthy based on his day in and day out mental toughness and ability to sink a shot from anywhere on the court. It seems most of the time an MVP is awarded to a guy whose team wins it all. Only in rare cases does that not happen. I think of A-Rod in 2003 and Steve Carlton in 1972 for the last place Phils. Although a very good player, I can't believe that those that vote will elevate him to the level of those great players. Of course, I would have said there was no chance for him to win 2 years in a row.
