It's great to read your comments on this simple detail and I'm proud to tell you that I work for a company that started this trend in the right direction for hotels many many years ago. If I recall it correctly we were the first chain of hotels that started putting Shampoo, Conditioner and later on Bath Gel in the shower simply as a small detail in anticipation of the guest's needs.

It's nice to know that it makes a difference and is appreciated but also surprising to learn that so many hotels are still slow to change. Unfortunately many chains use packaging that of course will get damaged if it is in a wet area even if not used will still be rendered as unusable.

In any case we look forward to welcoming you to one of our hotels and or resorts in the future.

Fred,

That is so funny that you mention that. I just went to a party hosted by Schlesinger Associates and they held it at the Hotel Vitale in San Francisco. The party was outside a suite and the shower had the exact set up you are talking about.

I thought it was really cool and more important very efficient.

Thanks for sharing.

Recently stayed at a great hotel in SF recommended by the field agency we were using. I was initially puzzled by the hole in the glass wall of the walk-in shower until I stepped into the shower and realized the shower head was on the ceiling and of course no way you could turn the shower on without a blast of cold water on your head. Then realized the hole in the glass wall was to turn on the shower. Oh yes, the shampoo, wash cloth, etc., was sitting on the ledge right next to the hole for easy access when in the shower. I must start to travel more, and stay in nice hotels!!

Joyce,

Thanks for your email. Actually I was surprised to see shampoo in my shower - congrads to Hyatt for getting it right. Only the second hotel that has put it in the right place.

I love Marriott properties but I can't understand why they don't change this process.

Actually, I was suprised to see the shampoo and the conditioner both located in the shower at the Hyatt - San Fancisco that we just visited. Was it not that way in your room?
