Is It Art? A Table? A Chair?……YES!

As you know, I like creativity. In fact, I love people that:

  • Are very creative.

  • Look at things a little different.

  • Can make something out of nothing.

  • Can see things that others can’t.

Recently this was sent to me and every time I look at it I am blown away! I don’t have much information other than I know it was made in Japan.

With space a premium in Japan, I assume an artist came up with a dual function for art and furniture. To me this is so amazing and one of the most creative things I have ever seen.

  • What do you think?

  • Have you seen this before?

  • Would you buy it?

I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Hmmm. What is it?

Look. The nose cone comes off!

Hmmm. Chairs now! The plot thickens!

...and an occasional table...

...do you come here often?

On display

...in this corner...

That is amazing. I couldn’t figure out what is was until I scrolled down. I would not have guessed it was furniture. Very cool.

Wow! Where can I get one of these? :)

Very neat idea, but I think it looks tacky. It looks like if you stack it up and leave it outside on your deck a strong wind could make the furniture fall over.

I will the creator an A+ on creativity…

Very cool. I would definitely consider it, but also wonder about how it would hold up in bad weather (being in Chicago…)

It’s a creative design, which I’m sure would work for some living arrangements. although not my own.

Sticking with that theme, over the weekend, I was at a party with lots of neat design ideas on display, as the host has a keen eye for creativity for design/function. Lamps, clocks, furniture, etc… In fact, the person is so into the design/function thing, that he started a company specializing in the most unusual vintage and offbeat modern wristwatch designs. I guarantee that most people would appreciate this: http://www.watchismo.com

    Marc,

I checked out the site. Really cool stuff. I also spent a few minutes on their blog.

    Thanks for sharing.
