I think it will be tough to 'beat' relevant (not that this is one of Merrill's contests)...it's just a great/important word for 2009, or any year. I would have to say (because it is the one thing I think that my clients, staff, peers, friends, etc, would all agree I do relate and act upon), even though it's another term that might be over-used: PROACTIVE.
