So I probably have your attention with the title of this post. You probably are thinking I am buying you something but have no idea what that is. Well here goes.
Yes I am ordering. We are in a restaurant or a bar and having a fun time with friends. What are you drinking?
- Rum and Coke
- Vodka on the rocks
- A Mojito
- Tequila shot
- White Russian
- Long Island Iced Tea
- Dirty Martini
- Piña Colada
- Mudslide
- Beer
- Wine
- Champagne
- Seven & Seven
If you were taking my order, it would most likely be a beer and almost always I like a local beer. For an after dinner drink I do like sambuca on the rocks. But I have found that most people don’t like that and frankly can’t stand the smell.
- Ok. What am I ordering for you?
- Do you order something different during the summer?
- Does your order change depending on who you are with?
I look forward to reading your comments

I would like either a Cosmopolitan or a Kir Royale as a cocktail. I prefer wine with dinner though…am I being too high maintenance?
Merrill Dubrow says:
Patricia,
Sounds good to me. how about we have one at the holiday party if not sooner!

LOL, this is pretty funny, as most of my friends know, I don’t drink alcohol, and never have! Well, can’t really say never, as my siblings helped me break that habit at my 30th and 40th, and they found me fast asleep at the party!
So, you would order me an ice tea, Sprite or one of the clear soda’s!
Easy eh?
Stephenie Gordon says:
Currently – a club soda with a lime please.
Normally – WINE, if it’s not a crowded bar and we have time for me to glance at the menu. White Wine to start unless they have an amazing red by the glass (which rarely happens).
If it’s crowded and we are in a hurry and need to be quick, Vodka Tonic. preferably Hangar One Vodka, but if they don’t have that, Grey Goose works.
Erin says:
I think my drink preferences change during the seasons, something light and crisp like a ginger cucumber martini during the summer and maybe something aromatic and more filling during the winter like a KGB. My favorite after dinner drink is B&B and hopefully with that there is a slice of carrot cake. When in doubt my go to is gin and tonic.
Magda Cooling says:
An Iced Tea w lemon please. Although those Star-Tini’s in LV were good… I don’t like carbonation, never have; soft drinks, champagne and beer are out. Alcohol in general makes me tired. Kahlua & Cream is good tho! I know, cheap date…
Aileen says:
It depends on the location:
I love the taste of tequila — but I will only drink it in Mexico as US tequila really doesn’t have the same flavor.
My “go to” drink is a scotch and water — has been since I was 25.
But when I go to bars anymore I tell the bartender I am a scotch drinker though will drink a corona if I can have half a lime in it — they place a mojito in front of me.

Chappellet Cabernet 2005 please. And please join me, you won’t regret it!
Merrill Dubrow says:
Steve,
Sounds good to me – let’s do it!

Steve Gentile says:
I’d love to – in the midst of closing on house and moving (still East Coast) but when dust settles, I’d like to!
Bob Graham says:
Single Malt Scotch. MacAllen is my brand of choice. I normally drink MacAllen 15, but since you’re buying, buddy, make it MacAllen 25 (You know the difference between a Scotsman and a coconut? You can get a drink out of a coconut.). Neat-no water or ice.
Mary Wang says:
This one caught my eye Merrill,
I will have a scotch old fashioned; my favorite cocktail. Send one over anytime.
Paul Kirch says:
I agree with Bob about Single Malt Scotch, though my favorite is Balvenie Double Wood. I also like a good dry Vodka Martini with a twist of lemon, especially when its hot out. How about one of each, since you’re buying?
Lynn Stalone says:
A perfectly drawn pint of Guinness is always at the top of my list, along with top-shelf tequila.
I have also recently been introduced to some excellent aged rums that are amazing – great with cigars!
Tim Antoniewicz says:
Ah – one of my favorite subjects…
As some of you might already know there isn’t too much that I don’t enjoy when it comes to libations. And I have probably had one with a number of you.
I pretty much have two go to drinks depending how I feel (and they are similar and simple). Ketel one and tonic with a lime or Ketel one on the rocks, 3 olives. I have to get three olives because my wife (who doesn’t really drink) will take two of them – so I am left with one.
