No hats, tats or piercings for me.
We did our annual rim to rim Grand Canyon Hike this past weekend and for a joke, one of the guys made up some hats to spoof the guy who runs the yearly event.
So for the first time since I was playing baseball in school, I wore a hat. And everyone commented on the fact that they have never seen me wear a hat.
After the hike, I gave the hat away and it may be another 25 years before I experience hat-hair again.
Here's another reason why I don't wear hats:

I have two caps. One is a white Nike mesh cap I wear most of the time i.e. running or when I'm outside on a sunny day.
The other one is a white Sugoi baseball cap, which I used to wear only race days. However, since I don't race anymore it sits in my room as a trophy.

Merrill -

You seem to be keen more on caps than hats.

Hats are different from caps as they have a high crown and/or a brim. Hats have always been more elaborate than caps and have more fashionable appeal to them.

In fact, hats are the "in" thing right now. Living in Los Angeles and traveling to major cities, I have seen a greater assortment of berets, fedoras, porkpies and trilbies at concerts and pedestrian gatherings.

I tend to like naval pillbox caps and especially woven beanies , which recently I have been looking for.

To break you out of your cap rut, I suggest three styles for you;

A Bucket Hat since you are a tennis player and golfer.

A Panama Hat since you like to holiday in the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico

And the obvious choice - a Stetson Cowboy hat. Much more class than your 'Boys and Stars caps.

Ah, a favorite topic....
I like yourself, have a shelf full of hats. Many from companies I've worked for and with and many from sheer liking the hat.
My favorite, though I don't wear it hardly anywhere and you're going to see why, is my beige cap, with a navy blue brim with black lettering that states BS! This is a gift from my brother, whose initials are BS! My second favorite is my Palm Beach Country Club cap, which I wear most often and work around in, on weekends. As you can imagine and sorry if its TMIF, but it has the suede brim and a stain of a well worn sweat mark and many stains from golf outings etc. My least favorite cap, which will most likely end up in the donation to the ladies auxiliary, like so many before it, is my ACE cap, which was part of a marketing campaign of a failed company, I worked for in the 80's.
Hmm, haven't seen my significant other in a cap, but I can imagine her being very cute, in any head apparel!
