Wow - not sure I could have been anymore wrong.

Drew Brees completed 32-of-39 passes for 288 yards and two touchdowns as the Saints won Super Bowl XLIV, 31-17 over Indianapolis.

Congrads to the city of New Orleans and the Saints. I am sure they are very proud of what their team accomplished.

I think Amber's response is the most thought provoking! :-) Having spoken to a LOT of Colts fans in Indy, I can assure you every single one of them wanted it to be the Vikings b/c they felt they had a better chance against them. I have no choice but to pull for the underdog, particularly when I don't have strong feelings about either team. I have to have someone to root for, so it's the Saints. Love the fact this is their first SB; how amazing would it be if they won? Whatever the outcome, let's all agree that a close game is more fun...high scoring...overtime. Oh, yeah!

This is going to be one of those showdowns where both are winners. I like both teams, they have so much heart and soul, and I hate to see anyone lose, but my guess is that the Colts will come out on top, 45-28.

I am with Willie, but I was hoping for The Chargers and The Who - also my favorite band - in one of my favorite cities. Being a huge Peyton fan, I say Colts by 11 and a fairly high scoring game. 35 to 24 Colts. However, I would happy to see the Saints win for their fans and the city - hard to dislike that team and Brees is a class act.

The halftime show is going to rock.

Colts are going to win, and its not going to be close. they have the better offense and better defense, even without (probably) Freeney in action.

It pains me to say this after how the saints dismantled my beloved cardinals, but i don't think they stand a chance.

Prediction:

31 - 17. Peyton will have a peyton-like game, the colts will also recover a fumble for a TD, and one of those saints TDs will be a special teams touchdown.

That being said... what the question SHOULD be is will the cardinals make the playoffs next year with Leinart at the helm. thank god for a weak division.

I am thinking more of a low scoring affair, 24-21 and it goes down to the wire with Peyton winning it on the last drive of the game. A couple of turnovers for each team which keeps things exciting.

I could also see this going into overtime - wouldn't that be fun!

And I will be rooting for the Saints, just afraid i am going to come up short.

Hello Merrill,

I was really hoping that I would get to watch my favorite team (Vikes) play and my favorite band play. I am now half content.

I have a bigger question. Does Daddy Archie hope for a Bayou Blowout to justify all the years of futility or cheer his son on?

I will go against the grain and state that having seen the Saints overcome a 24 point deficit in Miami earlier this year, I think it will play into their favor.

I also think we will see a game of defensive stops, much like in 1980 when Rod Martin got 3 picks. Dwight Freeney will be a non-factor.

Reggie Bush will not have a big game, but I am confident Colston and the special teams of Nawlins step it up.

I like the Saints and the Who Dats by a 26-23 count as we see overtime for the 1st time in Super Bowl history.

LONG LIVE THE WHO!!!!!

Thanks Merrill!

I am having a hard time with this one. The Saints are on fire and are all heart and heart can win football games, but Payton Manning is unbelievable and in his prime, so he will be hard to beat. I don't have any idea who is going to win much less who to root for.

Jeff Saturday played for UNC so i think i'm going to have to go with the Colts????
