Senior Consultant, Marketing Sciences

Job Description

M/A/R/C® Inc. is one of the largest custom marketing research companies in the United States. The corporation is headquartered in Dallas, Texas with branch offices located in major cities across the country. This position is in our Dallas, Texas office.

Who We’re Looking for:

  • Someone who knows the difference between "data" and "insights," "findings" and "implications."
  • Experience with predictive modeling and advance analytic methods.
  • Experience with advanced tools required: SAS, SPSS, etc. Experience programming with R, Python, etc. a plus.
  • Someone who can craft stories from the data and provide creative strategic solutions.
  • Experience working closely with client teams to create holistic POVs and approaches.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, writing skills, communication skills, consulting skills, and ability to work within a team.
  • Has a solid understanding of "big data" and using diverse data sources such as primary, syndicated, social media and digital to address overall objective/target.
  • Demonstrated ability to create analyses that move beyond an explanation of ‘what happened’ to ‘what is important,’ ‘why it happened’ and ‘what should be done’.
  • Ability to identify/clarify true client and business objectives and lead the development of analyses that address these objectives.
  • Can demonstrate a vision for analytics role in solution development, from the design through delivery.
What you will do:

  • Develop quantitative analyses, custom models and ad hoc reports that effectively deliver to client goals.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to design and implement analysis and reporting.
  • Work with client and account teams to maintain alignment/agreement between analytic plan and client needs.
  • Help to identify innovative, cutting edge, and relevant applications or analytical techniques for consideration to add to our company repertoire.
  • Work with leadership to help evolve processes and techniques.

  • Masters degree or Ph.D. in statistics, econometrics, or another quantitative field or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience.
  • Hands on experience with statistical software (e.g. SAS and SPSS) and specialized packages (e.g. Latent Gold and AMOS). Experience with R programming and Sawtooth software is a plus.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and the ability to logic check data, results, and final output.
  • Extensive multivariate analysis experience.
  • Agency side experience a plus.
  • Experience and familiarity with marketing strategies.
Account Manager

Title: Account Manager

As part of the Omnicom Group, M/A/R/C has access to extensive resources to enhance product and service offerings to our clients.

The Position

Responsible for selling and growing revenues through understanding of research objectives and the appropriate methodologies to address them coupled with a strong client service ethic and ability to analyze and succinctly deliver results. Meeting revenue and profit goals will be required.


  • Growing and maintaining client relationships (day-to-day contact/consultant)
  • Identifying client needs and appropriate research methodologies to address these needs
  • Understanding, recommending and reporting alternative methodologies, including: Offer/Positioning testing, Tracking, Attitude and Usage and Optimization; Forecasting experience a plus
  • Compiling winning proposals
  • Overseeing development of questionnaire, analytical plan and report
  • Writing/presenting research findings, conclusions and implications
  • Ensuring client deliverables (questionnaire, toplines, reports, etc.) meet research objectives and contain value-added insights into implications and business impact.

  • Minimum of 8 years in Research Account Management - forecasting experience a plus as well as consumer package goods or pharmaceutical experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Masters degree a plus.

Research Analyst/Manager

Job Functions

  • Proposal development.
  • Design and analyze projects and programs to meet client’s research and business needs.
  • Design questionnaires.
  • Develop analytical plans.
  • Document key elements of the analytic process (e.g. types of tests run, rules used for calculating statistics and maps, sample groups included, etc.)
  • Liaison with Advance Analytics team - schedule/manage/monitor all marketing science functions.
  • Prepare final report/presentation.
  • Participate in client presentations.
  • Assist client service with client interface and relationship building.

  • Bachelor's degree in a research related field. Preferably a graduate degree in a related field.
  • 2-5 years’ experience in a marketing research setting.
  • Must be able to work in the Dallas or Greensboro Office.

Qualitative Moderator

Title: Qualitative Moderator
Salary: Commensurate with Experience

Job Description

M/A/R/C® Research is seeking seasoned, skilled lead moderators for immediate full-time and contract opportunities. Preference will be given to moderators with extensive moderating experience in the following industries; Pharmaceutical and Healthcare, Technology, and/or Retail.


  • Meet with clients and collaborate with account executives / internal team to develop business opportunities on a continuous basis
  • Consult with client to understand the strategic business situation and questions to be resolved, to define research needs / objectives and to develop winning proposals
  • Design qualitative research to satisfy client research needs and collaborate with internal team to define project specifications, write proposals, set up projects and develop screeners / discussion guides
  • Recommend / implement creative interviewing strategies and advanced techniques to elicit qualitative data relevant to the research objectives, including appropriate projective techniques
  • Conduct traditional and/or online qualitative research with the appropriate audiences
  • Consult with client between and immediately following interview events to relate findings, their business implications, recommended adjustments and technical issues as the research unfolds
  • Quickly and efficiently conduct penetrating analyses, synthesize research findings and determine implications / recommendations
  • Write compelling reports ranging from moderator top-lines (3 - 5 pages, no verbatims) to polished final full reports, depending on scheduling issues and availability of team resources
  • Present research findings to clients, either in person or via teleconference
  • Travel wherever / whenever needed, as much as 75 - 100% of the time

  • At least 5 years of hands-on moderating experience.
  • Hands-on experience with a wide variety of methodologies / techniques
  • Impeccable inter-personal and client-facing skills is a must with a bias toward teamwork and a proven track record of client satisfaction
  • Highly articulate with outstanding analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Flexible, practical and resourceful with the ability to work diligently, productively and efficiently with minimal supervision

  • Experience with online methodologies
  • Ethnography, usability and ideation experience
  • General business or marketing experience / acumen

New Business Developer

Title: New Business Developer

Job Description

The Business Development position will be filled by someone who is willing to assume responsibility for identifying business opportunities in both prospective and existing accounts, and managing the sales cycle to a successful conclusion. This person will serve as a key contributor to the overall growth of the firm.


  • Growth of the business through acquisition of new clients
  • Activities include prospect generation, needs identification, qualifying the opportunity and engaging the appropriate subject matter experts to close the sale.
  • Responsible for a high level of management and account planning.
  • Working in a collaborative way with both Account Managers and Methods Consultants.
  • Becoming the Client Advocate.

  • A minimum of 5 years of sales experience in a marketing services environment, selling custom marketing research.
  • Documented sales successes crossing a mix of product and service categories.
  • An ability to associate marketing issues with appropriate research solutions.
  • Excellent planning and organization skills.
  • Strong relationship building skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Evidenced team building skills, and a willingness to work with any and all resources to achieve success.
  • An undergraduate degree in business or a related field, with an advanced degree a plus.

  • In-depth understanding of research methodologies a plus.
