Thanks Southwest Airlines You Were Amazing!

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

Yes you heard that right! I thanked Southwest Airlines! As many of the readers know 99.9% of the time I fly on an American Airlines plane out of DFW airport (best airport in the United States). Well this day was different. I was flying with a buddy (thanks J.B. great time) to game 4 of the Dallas mavericks/Spurs series in San Antonio. Because of that and Southwest has so many options we were on one of their flights.

I must tell you I couldn’t have been any MORE impressed! Here are some of the reasons:

  • All of their employees had a smile and couldn’t have been any friendlier
  • Their boarding process was ridiculously smooth
  • They helped people every step of the way
  • Their announcements on board were clear, concise and funny!
  • They have NO beverage cart so there is NO chance of getting a welt on your knee. This process was very smooth and they had a simple basic system to get everyone a drink and it actually worked perfectly
  • Yes bags fly free – I love that commercial

And oh by the way the plane was packed…. Yes sold out… standing room only…….

To me they just seemed to do everything right! They get it! It is a customer centric business and their customer service was perfect and 100% on target!

Thank you Southwest Airlines for NO delays and a job well done!

  • Have you flown Southwest Airlines?
  • If so what was your experience?
  • Have you had a similar experience on other airlines?

I look forward to reading your comments.

Attention Consumers Did You Hear The News? Restroom Paper Towels Are Headed For Homes

Monday, May 3rd, 2010

Yes you read that right. Restroom paper towels are headed for your bathrooms in your home!

Kimberly Clark thinks this is a good idea and has developed a new product. The Dallas-based consumer products giant is launching Kleenex Hand Towels, which it describes as “a unique new product that addresses consumers’ growing concern with hand hygiene.”

Think disposable paper towels like in the office restroom, only for your home.

“Consumers know that even after they are washed, hands are only as clean as the towel used to dry them,” said Gordon Knapp, president of Kimberly-Clark’s family care business. As you are evaluating this idea you need to know that the cost is about $3 for a box of 60 Kleenex towels.  Kimberly Clark has tested this and sold 3,000 cases of its new hand towels during the first seven minutes of airtime on a QVC shopping channel debut in January.

I must admit when I first heard of this I didn’t think it was a good idea. I don’t really like the feel of the hard towels but the more I thought about it count me in!

  • I am buying are you?
  • What do you think of this idea?
  • Have you seen them already?
  • Did you buy them?

I look forward to reading your comments.

PS – Kimberly Clark estimates that U.S. bathroom-goers dry their hands on cloth towels 200 billion times a year and believe they will sell a bunch of this product.
