I received an email a few weeks ago (thanks Uncle J) that showed some pretty cool inventions: I have highlighted 7 of them:
![]() Water fountains with spouts to fill water bottles too. |
![]() Public transit that will accept recyclable goods as fare. |
![]() Benches that you could rotate to always have a dry seat. |
![]() Packing tape with a simple, easy to open strip. |
![]() Mugs that will catch any drips before they reach your table or desk. |
![]() A backpack with a built-in hood, for those days where you’re unsuspectingly caught in the rain. |
![]() Wall outlets with extension cords built into the wall. Nothing will ever be out of reach, now! |
Some pretty cool stuff right?
- Which one was your favorite?
- Which one do you think most people would use?
I look forward to reading your comments!
Roger Austin says:
I like the water fountain and the extension cord . Both would b used a bunch.
Dan Rangel says:
Wow, those are pretty cool. The majority of them I have not seen. I think that public transit machine is a great idea to get people to recycle. Although I am not sure how many people will do I like the concept.
I think my favorite is the water fountain one because I have seen it and used it.
I think one of the most practical is the rotating bench. Although if too many people use it at a bus station the thing would probably be wet on all sides within minutes.

I love all of these inventions on so many levels.
The packing tape with the open strip is my favorite as it saves so much time looking for a cutting tool.
The water bottle filler; my daughter’s YMCA has one of these and it’s such a great way to save water and fill a bottle.
How novel to recycle for a fare.
I just love all of these. Thank you!

I have seen many people filling water bottles at these water fountains in the Atlanta airport. Great idea – especially since you can’t take a filled water bottle through security!
Jeff Adler says:
When I traveled to IIeX in Atlanta in June, I spotted the water fountain in the Atlanta airport, and thought it was such a great idea that I Tweeted it out with the IIeX hashtag.
The one in the Atlanta airport is located AFTER security – so you can take an empty water bottle through security, and then fill it at the water fountain – hands free, with filtered water. It saves money, and the environment.
