I am not sure if they offer this service in every airport or just testing the concept. This email was for Orlando. I think the strategy is very creative and I give them props for developing the program. I would love to know if you would use it and what airports would make the most sense?

- Would you use the service?
- What do you think about the $20 charge? Too high? Just about right?
- What airports do you think make the most sense?
I look forward to reading your comments.

For many, many years I have thought this would be a good competitive advantage for a rental car company at an airport. So many times I have thought it would be nice to be able to do exactly that. Kind of a rental car valet. I kind of figured someone would figure it out and offer it for free or at least so to their VIP customers as a way to differentiate competitively–like Enterprise does with their off-airport pick you up program. Not sure that a $20 fee for it works across the board, but at some airports and in some circumstances it might be worth it. Airports like SFO, DFW where the rental cars are far away from the terminals and require a train or long ride on a shuttle might work. But Love Field it’s probably not worth $20–more like $5.

I would be skeptical this would produce any additional speed. I cannot think of any airports where having someone drive you would be faster than the default method of returning from the airport rental return. The only situation I can think of where this might make sense is if I had a trunk full of luggage. Then, it might be appealing to not unload the car, load the bus, and drag lots of luggage around.

I would definitely use this service when traveling with the family and all our gear. I hate to schlepp all our stuff from the car to the van to the curb.
Funny story along these same lines; one of my colleagues used to just leave the rental car at the airport curb (obviously before 9/11) when he was running late for a flight. He would lock the keys in the car and call the rental car company on the way to the gate. They would charge him $100, but he would make the flight.

Received the same offer but at a cost of $35 for LAX.
