Hey Rod – a job well done! Thanks!

Last week I had the opportunity to see Rod Stewart in Las Vegas with M.D. and S.S.. I must admit I was really looking forward to the experience. Not because I haven’t seen him in a while actually the exact opposite. I have seen him in the same city, same location, singing the exact same play set and couldn’t wait to experience it again.

With each step we took into the Coliseum at Caesars Palace I was getting more and more excited. At 71 Rod doesn’t move as fast as he used too and his voice isn’t as powerful as it once was but I would suggest that the older he gets the better showman he becomes. Rod set the stage early but letting everyone in the audience know he was playing 20 songs for 95 minutes. And he did just that!

His stage performance is special, his band is amazing, and his saxophone player is as good as the late Clearance Clemons who is from Bruce Springsteen’s band. Rod loves soccer and has found a way to weave that into his performance by kicking – yes kicking 30+ soccer balls all over the place. He goes into the crowd and sings a song or two, he lets people (all women) come up on stage which created such a frenzy security rushed to help him out, and ends with Do you Think I’m Sexy while balloons are falling from the rafters. It was special!

Rod, thanks for getting better with age! Few performers can actually say that.

If you are in Vegas or anywhere and you have a chance to see Rod Stewart perform please do. You won’t be sorry!

  • Have you seen Rod Stewart perform in Vegas?
  • What did you think of the show?
  • Were you lucky enough to catch a soccer ball?
  • What other performers are getting better with age?

I look forward to hearing from you.
